March Holidays Day 1

I'm now in school. Supposed to be studying, although I'm here blogging. Chemistry is quite easy, I believe I will do suffciently well for the upcoming block tests. Next topic, Physics. Brought my laptop to school, but apparently the school still has yet to work out the bugs on the wireless network and Windows Vista OS. So damn, I was hoping to be able to check my emails from the comfort of my workbench; instead I'm in the lousy computer lab. Btw, this computer hung twice before I managed to launch blogger and post. Wish this was Maris Stella High, where all the computers are Apple. So much better than the lousy IBM computers we have now in YJC. Then again, look at the kind of things they have here in YJC, I guess the computers are better than nothing. Back to work. *i've been thinking less and less about you.. is that a good thing or a bad thing, I wonder?"

Last week, we played fantastic, won SIM Blacks FC. Today, lost to Nhac Tre. Pity, but its over. Seems Singapore schools is fated to be relegated to div 2. Watched the ZARF vs Innebandy match. So inspiring. Innebandy won 8-7. Damn exciting. Wish I could play like that. Innebandy no. 10 airhook was incredible. Both teams did not move a muscle while he excuted it. Fantastic, he scored too! *i am dying, slowly but surely*

8-5 win! Finally, after many weeks of losing, the combined schools team finally prevailed against SIM Blacks FC. The match was highly exciting, with 3 penalty shootouts and countless other penalties. But we WON! All that matters. Forget all else, we WON! *Attachment leads to pain...and I'm suffering.*

I'm so exhausted. From floorball to school work, there never seems to have an end to either. Met up with Amanda, Manel, Johan and TXQ last night. Amanda's going back tomorrow morning. And I also was reminded how pathetically fragile human life is. Damn tired, but still I need to press on.

Sunday!! Already! Back to school tomorrow; and my homework is only half completed; and tonight is my grandmother's birthday. Gotta burn the midnight oil again. Afternoon was fun, played bball and badminton with Cherise, Ivan, Hang Qi, Bertina, Ian, Wen Jing and Andrina. Stubbed my toe on the floor and it was bleeding. Oh well, hung out at a coffeeshop behind Northpoint with Ivan, Ian and Wen Jing, had lunch there too. Talked much about DotA and then came home and played a game on bnet. I'm definitely losing my touch, only got a mega kill. *i hope i will have the courage to ask you*

Gong Xi Fa Cai, Hong Bao Na Lai! Every year, as always, my family goes to my grandmother's house for reunion dinner. Same food as every year, with a new replacement, curry pork. Yum, slightly sour and spicy, the pork was cooked to perfection; tender and succulent. Over ate, now groaning and blogging while the adults talk. I arrived just in time for the dinner. Ha, sorry to make the girls do all the preparation. We had vegetarian steamboat at Clor's place. Pei Ting and Clorine kept stuffing the pot with so much veggies that it was practically impossible for the soup to boil. Ya, then there was a fair bit of leftovers, pity Lionel was not there, although then we would not have the problem of food wastage. Anyway, big thanks to all who came and made it possible: Cherise, Tessa, Clorine, Ting Ting, Pei Ting, Yong Wei, Yuet Yuan, Yi Xiang, Cynthia, Fan Yuan and Michelle. Woo hoo!! No SSSP for me because I did relatively fine for the term 1 block tests. B, E, E, S for H1 Literature, H2 Chemistry, H2 Physics and H2 Mathematics respectively. Can do better, but for now, I must say that is a good start since I did not really study during the holidays. I guess it really pays off to pay attention during lectures, since I'm not a fan of doing homework. On second thoughts, doing tutorials is important for the 'A' grades. So better slug it out. *i hope that it's not a mistake.*

Fantastic! We played RP Salibandy today. Final score was 3-5. We lost, but I managed to play for almost a whole period. Beliefs are powerful things, and with the right beliefs, we can do much more. Beliefs create attitudes, attitudes spawn outcomes, outcomes affect personalities. During the trials of the Singapore Schools, I had this belief: Doing my best, regardless of the outcome. That got me into the team, but along the way I seemed to have forgotten that belief and instead converted that into "doing it for my testimonial", and as a result, I failed to perform to my best. Luckily, my mum counseled me and allowed me to reflect and remember what my beliefs were. I'm so fortunate. *lend me your strength*

From Cherise's blog about Beliefs, that we are already shaped by what we have seen and been told. Reading it after the match gives me certain insights. I can certaintly say that the older we grow, the more preconcieved notions we have about how things should be. Babies/young are innocent due to their lack of such preconceptions, thus allowing them to see things as they are, without expecting things to contain more than they see. I have always believed myself to be of sufficient standard in floorball. Clearly, that is not the case, and after some reflection, I realise that it is not that I'm lacking, but that I am limiting myself with my ego and arrogance. Thinking back to the match, instead of enjoying myself at the exhilarating match, all I did was just be indifferent to what was going on. Even when I did enter the court, I was seething (or at least unhappy) at only being a replacement, instead of actually playing the game. Sigh, I now realise it is so much easier to blame others. I feel terrible when typing this stuff out, but as I have always said, the truth hurts. There is much I can do, and I should. I apologise to my team for my bad attitude, even though I did not say much, I guess quite a few of you all felt it. I hope tomorrow will be a better day. Am I a failure? Or does failure come from not even bothering to change?? *i think of you day and night, it's almost an obsession; but i know where your priorities lie*

Block Test Results

Got back my results today! I'm lowest of the 5 who passed in class for Chemistry, a measly 50%, but still better than nothing. Failed mathematics, as expected at 47%. Most stunning was my literature paper. I ranked TOP for H1 literature!! But then again, it was only an average 67%. I should have done better, and, excuses aside, resolve to complete my homework and rush it. I bet my GP tutor will be furious at my slipshod essay (completed it in 30 mins flat). Alright, enough of school stuff. I'm finally in the Combined Schools team. Got our jesery yesterday, and the shirt is white with red trimmings while the shorts and socks are just red. Very matching with my red adidas shoes and red floorball stick. Ha, among the Combined School players, I feel as though I don't even come from the same planet as them. They are damn good. Only, 20 people will play on Sat, and there are 25 players at present. Pray I at least get to play a bit. Just helped Jia Yi look for her DVD but its not with me. Yea, now going to shower and sleep. *dun give up, persevere to excel*

Came back from floorball training about an hour ago. We're getting our jerseys next Wednesday. So excited. First match is against Pasirian next Saturday at 8 pm. Thrilling. Back hurts. Finished my homework! Definitely a first. Met up with Amanda, Manel and TXQ for dinner. Chatted about old times, reccent events at the Esplanade. Enjoyed myself till quite late, went back with Amanda. Best part about getting home was that it was raining heavily. When I was about to leave the train station and walk back in the rain, it became only a drizzle. Only when I reached my block did it start pouring again. AMAZING! I must be special. My schedule is all messed up. I need to get a planner or at least start planning my time more efficiently. Wow. It's past midnight. Finally caught up with my work. Although, still have plenty more to go, it's a start. Found out today that Ms Ng is quite a nasty person. Not as in personality, but she can get really bitchy in the face of what she deems as 'rubbish'. Class got an earful from her, and she commented sacarstically on my hairy legs... then she made us change out of our shorts. Evening, went to temple to help mum with her meditation retreat. Planned a few things for the December camp. Hope I can manage to juggle all the stuff. Exhausted already, and 28 more weeks to go. Persevere, I must. Plus I'm being bugged by an entity, pray it stops it. Over, it's all over, so quit. Finis, kaput, finition, 结束. Live your life, you'll get over me. *thinking about you*

Discovered I had plenty of work back logged from the holidays. Perhaps discovered isn't the right word, more like: reality slammed into me. In any case, now attempting to complete as much as possible. Block tests begin next Thursday. Wonder if I have enough time to prepare? If not, then I'll have to go back to school on Saturday for SSSP. Day 1 back in YJC: saw Bertina and Ian in the orientation. Met Mdm Shelia first thing in the morning and she told me that I am exco too. Wonder why. Told someone about it, and that someone suggested that seeing Mdm Shelia beginning of the year and in the morning is a bad omen. Who cares? Caught up with all the friends I left behind last year, missed the sting ray from my school. Superbly delicious. New GP tutor of Ms Ng Wee Li, good tutor and friend of my ex-tutor Mr Gabriel Lee. Had floorball meeting in the afternoon, guys and gals. Mdm Shelia raised the idea of naming the floorball team, something else other than Team YJC. Maybe YJ Dragoons? Or YJ Flames? Or even YJ Cobras? I hope its something cool (not YJ Faeries) or sorts. Anyway, went for dinner with Kenneth, chatted with him and found out he has a twin. Wow! After that, returned home and now rushing my physics practical report and my maths tutorial (due on Friday and not even started). *thinking about you*
